- Between 1-2 hours after leaving the studio, remove the dressing from your new tattoo.
- Wash the tattoo with hot water and a little antibacterial soap, then rinse well with
cold water.
- Pat the tattoo dry and leave to air dry for 10-20 minutes before applying a thin
layer of Tattoo Aftercare evenly over the tattoo.
- Repeat the hot wash/cold rinse at least once more within the first 24 hours and again
apply the aftercare.
- Apply Tattoo Aftercare 2-3 times daily until the tattoo has totally healed.
- Your tattoo will feel like you have mild sunburn in the first 72 hours and form some
light scabbing, which will peel over the following days. DO NOT scratch or pick
the tattoo.
- Avoid direct sunlight and swimming or bathing during the first week.
- Use a high factor sun-cream on your tattoo to ensure it remains vibrant.

- Ensure you wash your hands before carrying out your aftercare routine.
- For all Ear & Body piercing’s, clean the piercing site daily with Savlon Woundwash
or warm diluted Sea Salt solution. Gently remove any crusting that has formed with
gauze or a cotton bud.
- Spray Ear & Genital piercings with Savlon Woundwash twice daily - and always after
bathing/showering or swimming.
- For all general Body piercing’s apply a drop of BPA solution twice daily and ensure
the jewellery can move freely within the piercing site.
- For Oral piercing’s gently rinse regularly with mouthwash and try to maintain as
normal eating and drinking pattern as possible. Localized swelling can be expected
with all oral piercing’s (ice drinks etc will help soothe the mouth) but should not
last much longer than the first week.
- All new piercings can spot bleed for the first 24 hours, with minor inflammation
for the first couple of weeks.
- If the piercing site turns a dark pink/red accompanied by discharge and increased
tenderness it would suggest infection and medical advice should be sought.
- If you require your jewellery to be changed or you are concerned about your piercing
(continual pain or inflammation etc), please return to the studio to see your piercist.

- On the day of your treatment, approximately 2 hours after leaving the studio, remove
the dressing and wash the treated area with antibacterial soap. Carefully pat dry
and then apply a thin layer of antiseptic cream (Germolene or Savlon Gel) over the
treated area.
- Then on a daily basis continue to wash the treated area with antibacterial soap,
but start to apply a thin layer of Laser aftercare (2-3 times a day) from the second
day following your treatment.
- If you wish, continue to use cold compresses for the first week.
- The use of a tubigrip bandage also helps reduce swelling and keeps the treated tattoo
clean.
- Keep the treated tattoo clean and DO NOT pick at any blisters or scabbing that form
as this can lead to scarring.
- The treated tattoo may remain tender with some swelling for up to 14 days following
your treatment.
- Continue to use the Laser aftercare once a day after 4 weeks until your next treatment
appointment.
